Mike Raju 1941 - 2020

Mike Raju

Mike was originally a sugar-cane farmer, from a long line of descendants of farmers based in the Fiji Islands. He studied at Ba Sangam high school, and worked for Bish Engineers Ltd in Suva. Mike later worked as an apprentice at a prominent landmark in Ba called Rarawai Sugar Mill in the 60's, before deciding to leave Fiji in order to start a new life in London.

When Mike arrived in London in his early twenties, he first worked at a local fish and chips shop while studying for a HND in engineering at Willesden Technical College. After gaining his HND, he worked at London Transport for 8 years where he covered various executive roles, such as being a signalling engineer.

At 41, he decided to make a career change, and wanted to run his own business. On November 14th 1985, Quintex (UK) Ltd was born.

Although he is no longer with us, his memories and legacy will last a lifetime. Some of the best lessons we learnt from life such as family, respect and doing things for others were taught by him.

We leave him in God's hands, and may his soul rest in peace.
